Golden Rule…
Benidorm hotels have set prices – and they rarely offer decent discounts to individual tourists. But the reputable agencies book in bulk – and can usually manage to negotiate large discounts. We recommend the following agencies – we have used them all and we trust them. There are plenty of other good agencies online. So shop around!
Benidorm is one of the most disabled-friendly resorts in Spain.
There are scores of hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, shops etc that are well-equipped to cater for disabled visitors. Mobility scooters can be hired from several companies – and, especially in winter, you will see hundreds of them cruising along the promenade and just about everywhere else in the town. There are even wheelchair ramps leading across the beach at several locations – so disabled visitors can take a dip in the Med! My wife is disabled – and we visit Benidorm often – so we know a thing or two about this subject!
Airport transfers. Alicante Airport, has lifts, ramps, and disabled toilets. Wheelchairs and assistance are available on request, and should be arranged in advance with your airline. Help is available at the airport to get you onto your transfer bus. Disabled taxis are also available (book ahead). Don’t rent a flat in Gemelos 4,Calle Jaen,if you have a mobility scooter! They’re not allowed anywhere on the premises. The caretaker put my scooter outside the gate twice! When I complained, he discourtiously pointed to a picture of a mobility scooter with a line through it! If you’re disabled, as I am,be careful in your choice of a flat.
